Jat Intellectual Meet on Nov 16

CHANDIGARH, Oct 25
Former Director General of Police, Haryana, Dr. M.S. Malik, IPS (Rtd.), who is also President, Federation of Jat Institutions and Jat Sabha Chandigarh, today announced that Jat Intellectual Meet-2008 would be held at Jat Dharmshala Urban Estate, Jind on November 16 from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. The theme of the Seminar will be “Unity among the Community”.
In addition, the following topics shall be discussed during the day long seminar: Construction of multipurpose Jat Bhawan in the National Capital, New Delhi; to promote education and awareness amongst the community; to deliberate on the issue of reservation for the community in different fields; focus on rural development and opportunities for employment and deliberation on history of Jats and cultural heritage.
Ch. Sultan Singh, a renowned freedom fighter and former Governor of Tripura will be the chief cuest and Dr. G.P. Pilania, MP, Rajya Sabha will preside over the seminar.
Apart from the above, various dignitaries namely Dr. R.K. Malik, Director, Extension Ch. Charan Singh Agriculture University, Hisar, Dr. Devi Singh, Director, IIM, Lucknow, Dr. Bhagwan Sahai, IAS, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi, Prof. Veer Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Nalson University of Law, Hyderabad, Dr. S. S. Sangwan, Vice-Chancellor, PGI & Medical College, Rohtak, S. Jasbir Singh Khangura, MLA Punjab, S. Sukhpal Singh, MLA, Punjab, Sh. Kewal Singh Dhillon, MLA Punjab, Dr. K.S. Dhindsa, Director General, Jannayak Ch. Devi Lal Vidyapeet, Sirsa, Capt. Abhimanyu, Sarankshak, Hari Bhoomi Rohtak, Mr. Herb Dhaliwal, former Natural Resources & Shipping Minister, Canada, Ch. Virendar Singh, IAS (Rtd.) New Delhi, Sh. M.P. Punia of Thane (M.R), Prof. D.S Hooda, of J.P. Institute of Engg. & Tech.. Raghogarh (M.P.) from within and outside India have also been invited to present their papers on above mentioned topics in the seminar.
In addition, many educationists and distinguished personalities in public life have also been invited from different parts of the country as well from foreign countries.
Further, Prof. Jagdish K. Gehlawat, Secretary General of Federation of Jat Institutions and Convener of the Meet has further disclosed that Dr. M.S. Malik shall himself be the chairman of the Organizing Committee whereas Mrs. Jaiwanti Shelkand, IAS (Rtd.) will be the co-convener and Ch. Raj Pal Singh, HCS (Rtd.), President, Jat Sabha Jind shall be the chief host as well as the chairman of reception committee.
