Propagate Govt policies in common language: Khandelwal


CHANDIGARH, November 7
The Commissiner and Secretary and Director,Information and Public Relations Department, Mr K.K. Khandelwal said that efforts were being made for strengthening the department and as many as 27 offices of Assistant Information and Public Relations Offices were being set up in the State besides sufficient budget
would also be made available for setting up of these offices.
Mr. Khandelwal was addressing the two-day meeting of District
Information and Public Relations Officers (DIPROs) at Haryana Niwas
here today.
The Commissioner said that the offices of AIPROs would be set up in
the 27 Sub-Divisions soon. He reminded that there were total 47 sub-divisions in the State and out of these 20 sub-divisions were at the Headquarters level. He said that Rs one lakh each would be given for setting up of the offices of AIPROs at the sub-division level.
Mr. Khandelwal exhorted the District Information and Public Relations
Officers (DIPROs) that efforts should be made to propagate the policies and programmes of the government in common language so that maximum benefit could reach to the common man. He opined that follow up story of every development project launched by the VIP should be ensured.
He disclosed that special publicity campaign would be launched in the State from December 1 next and all the villages of the State would be covered under the programme. He said that the offices of DIPROs would also be strengthened by providing three computers in every office besides all the vacant posts would also be filled up on the priority basis.
Mr. Khandelwal said that the folk singers were very popular even today as the people understand the language of folk songs. The drama units of the department were being revised and 11 new drama units would be set up in the department having 10 members each. He said that nine such drama units were already working in the department.
The Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr. Sunderpal Singh said that the publicity of the welfare schemes of the government should be done according to the psychy of the people. He urged the DIPROs that efforts should be made for wide publicity of every scheme which had been launched for the benefit of the people.
He was the opinion that in the age of globalization only that person
was powerful who have important information with them. He exhorted them that they should change their mindset according to the requirement of the government. He suggested that Press conferences of the VIPs should be organised at the district headquarter every month.
He was of the view that the details of development works of every constituteuncy should be prepared.
Media Co-ordinator, Mr. Ashok Buwaniwala said that the responsibilities of the DIPROs had increased manifold in the age of globalization and efforts should be made to use their capability while filing their stories.
The Additional Director, IPRD, Mr. M.S. Yadav and Mr. S.K.Setia assured Mr. Khandelwal that efforts would be made to implement the orders in toto for strengtheneing the department so that all the policies and programmes of the Government could be publicized promptly.
