Neelam of Haryana Yellow ran a good race to claim gold medal in the two-lap race for women on the opening day of the 41st Haryana Police Games here today. Big strides, Neelam clocked 2:46.29 to cross the finish line. Narnaul's Mamta of Haryana Red finished approximately 10 yards behind the gold medalist. Mamta of Yamunangar (Haryana Red) secured third position in 3:07.69.
The Haryana Green quartet comprising Ajay Kumar, Kuldeep, Mahender and Narenderclaimed gold int he 4x100 metres relay for men.
The Haryana Blues (Ravinder, Anil Kumar, Jasmer Singh and Prashant) time 47.69 for silver medal.
Results: Athletics: 4x100m relay (men): 1 Haryana Green (Ajay Kumar, Kuldeep, Mahender, Narender) 46.87; 2 Haryana Blues (Ravinder, Anil Kumar, Jasmer Singh and Prashant) 47.69; 3 Haryana Red (Surinder, Rampal,Jaswant, Satpal) 48.29.
800m (women): 1 Neelam (Haryana Yellow), 2:46.90; 2 Mamta (Haryana Red, Narnaul 2:52.25; 3 Mamta (Haryana Red, Yamunanagar) 3:07.69.
