Jat Sabha to celebrate Basant Panchmi on January 20

CHANDIGARH, JAN 13

The Jat Sabha Chandigarh will organize a grand public function to celebrate the Basant Panchmi and 129th Birth Anniversary of Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram at Jat Bhawan, in Sector 27-A here on January, 20, according to Dr. M. S. Malik, IPS (Rtd.), President of the Sabha and former Director General of Police, Haryana.
Dr. Malik further disclosed that the Function will be organized in a most befitted manner and will be attended by a number of people from all over the country and abroad. The Function will be presided over by Sh. Ram Niwas, IAS, Home Secretary, U.T. Chandigiah whereas Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav, Finance and Irrigation Minister, Haryana will be the Chief Guest and Km. Meghna Malik (Amma Ji), main Heroin of the T.V. serial “Lado” being telecast on Colour channel will be attending the Function as Guest of Honour.
The following will be the highlights of the function:
i) Tributes will be paid to the martyrs and Heroes as well as farmers who have laid down their lives while fighting for the sovereignty, integrity, safety, security of the nation and protecting the public life, property and also for the upliftment of economy of farming community as stated by Dr. M.S. Malik, IPS (Rtd.)
ii) The floral tributes and garlands will be offered to the Statue of Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram, the messiah of farmers and down-trodden of undivided Punjab & Haryana during pre-partition era.
iii) Speeches will be delivered by dignitaries and intellectuals from various walks of life for creating awareness on the life and role played by Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram for the upliftment/betterment of peasants and down-trodden.
iv) The distinguished students both in field of sports and education will be awarded with cash awards so as to motivate the budding youths with a view to promote sports and education in the area.
v)Similarly winners of Bhai Surinder Singh Malik Memorial All India Essay Writing Competition held on 04th July, 2009 at Chandigarh and various centres in Haryana, Punjab and of Poster Making Competition on Water is Essential for Survival of Life held on 24th November, 2009 will also be honoured with cash awards.
vi) Annual report of the achievements and other social works carried out by the Sabha during the year 2009 and progress of ongoing social works both at Chandigarh as well as Panchkula and construction of a multi purpose four storied Building being constructed at Sector 6, Panchkula will also be submitted by Sh. R.K. Malik, General Secretary.
vii) The life members of the Sabha who are retired from service during the current year will also be honoured on this occasion as a token of respect for the members.
viii) A Souvenir containing the details about the social and other activities being carried out by the Sabha, ideals/thoughts of Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram will also be brought on the Occasion.
ix)The burning issues of demanding reservation in different fields for Jats and other casts on the basis of economic conditions and also for the families of martyrs/War Heroes who have sacrificed their lives for protecting the sovereignty, integrity, safety, security of the nation will be highlighted in public interest during the Celebrations.
X.)The issue of implementing the recommendations of 6th Pay Commission for the employees of Haryana State, removal of anomalies in the implementation of 6th pay commission’s report and for pressuring the State govt. to initiate welfare and other beneficial schemes for the welfare and safety/security of govt/semi-govt. employees will also be raised for consideration in the function.
Dr. Malik further declared that cultural programmes i.e. display of dance, singing of local songs and Haryanvi ragnies etc. by the professional artists will also add colour to the Celebrations.
Above all, Kumari Meghna Malik, will be star attraction of the programme and she will be honoured by the Chief Guest on this occasion for her invaluable contributioin to women empowerment.
In fact, the day of the Function will be devoted for the welfare and betterment of peasants, martyrs and dependents/wards of martyrs.
