Ram Niwas advises Jat Sabha to participate in UT PIP programme

Chandigarh, January 20

Jat Sabha Chandigarh on the 129th Anniversary of
Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram and on the occasion of Basant
Panchami today organized a function at Jat Bahwan, Sector 27. UT
Home Secretary, Mr. Ram Niwas was the chief guest on the occasion.
Professor D R Chaudhary was the guest of honor. The day is also
celebrated nation-wide as Kisan Diwas.
Mr. Niwas on the occasion highlighted the extraordinary efforts
made by Sir Chhotu Ram for the alleviation of the downtrodden and
disadvantaged section of the society. He urged the Jat Sabha to
participate in the various programmes undertaken by the UT
Administration under Partnership Initiative Programme. He pressed
upon the need for the education of girl child and said that the
adverse sex ratio in the state of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh
needs urgent attention.
He also requested the Jat Sabha to adopt some schools under
the PIP programme and share hands with the Chandigarh
Administration for the up-liftment of poor children. Listening to the
demands of the Jat Sabha, Mr Niwas assured them of resolving the
issues after calling meeting with the concerned departments.
To mark the occasion Mr. Ram Niwas also released a souvenir
and distributed prizes to the meritorious children, winners of Essay Writing and Painting competitions.
Jat Sabha president former Haryana Director General of Police Dr M S Malik and other office-bearers received the chief guest and other dignitaries.
