HARSAC invites application for summer training course

Haryana Space Applications Centre (HARSAC) has invited applications for six weeks Summer Training Course on “Remote Sensing and GIS” for post graduate students at Hisar.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Centre said that the complete application form duly forwarded by concerned Principal or Head of Department should reach Chief Scientist, HARSAC, CCS HAU Campus, Hisar on or before May 21, 2010.
He said that the applicant should have completed or pursuing Master degree in either of the subjects of Environmental Science, Earth Science, Bio-Sciences, Geography, Geology, Geophysics, Agricultural Sciences, Computer Sciences, Physical Sciences or equivalent. The course would be conducted form June 14, 2010 to July 23, 2010.
He said that the total number of seats was fifty and selection would be based purely on merit of the marks obtained in B.A., B.Sc. or B.Tech. Weightage of five percent extra marks would be given to a candidate who had completed M.A or M.Sc. degree in the relevant field. A minimum of 10 seats would be allotted to each discipline. The first list of the selected candidates would be displayed at HARSAC notice board and uploaded on the website on May 26, 2010. The second list would be displayed on June 1, 2010. The selected candidates would be required to deposit the admission fee within three days after the display of the list, failing which their selection would stand cancelled and the seat would be allotted to the next candidate in the waiting list.
He said that if the numbers of applications received were less than twenty, HARSAC might cancel the training program. HARSAC would not provide any accommodation and the candidates would have to make their own arrangements during the training period.
