Army to conduct open recruitment rally

Army Recruitment Office, Rohtak has decided to conduct an open recruitment rally at new Police Lines Ground, Jhajjar from September 14 to 22 for the categories of Soldier General Duty, Soldier Clerk and  Soldier Technical for Rohtak, Jhajjar, Panipat and Sonepat districts and Soldier Nursing Assistant category for all Haryana except Faridabad, Gurgaon, Mewat and Palwal districts.
       While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Army Recruitment Office, Rohtak said that the screening date  for Soldier Nursing Assistant would be September 14, 2010 for general candidates and candidates belonging to special categories like son of servicemen, son of ex-servicemen, son of widow, son of war widow and NCC and sports certificates holders.
         He said that the educational qualification needed for Soldier Nursing Assistant included securing 40 per cent marks  in compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology and 50 per cent in aggregate in Class  XII or in case of a Graduate having B.Sc Degree (Botany, Zoology or Bio Science) and English (simple pass), the stipulation of percentage in Class  XII was not mandatory.
         He said that the physical standard of soldier Nursing Assistant would be height  170 cms, weight 50 kgs and chest 77/82 cms. During the recruitment rally, physical tests of 1.6 km Run, Pull ups, 9 Feet Ditch Jump and walking on Zig-Zag balance would be conducted. Relaxation in height, weight and chest for the SOS, SOEX, SOW, SOWW and Sports Certificate holders at National, State and University level with first and second place would be given as applicable.
         He said that the necessary documents required to be brought by the candidates during rally included 12 recent coloured passport size photographs of the candidate with name and date of birth imprinted on the photo and written on the back side with pen on each photograph and duly attested by village Sarpanch. The photograph should match with the facial appearance of the candidate at the time of recruitment. Those individuals with computer printed photographs and with different types of photographs would not be allowed to participate in recruitment rally.
         He said that candidates have to bring certificate in original. Candidates having duplicate certificate should have an affidavit from Magistrate alongwith signature, name and stamp. Domicile certificate should be affixed with the photograph of the candidate duly countersigned by Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar and Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
         Caste certificate for OBC and OIC would have to be signed by the Tehsildar,  Naib Tehsildar and SDM. Character certificate duly signed by village Sarpanch should be within 6 months from the date of issue. All candidates would have to produce certificate of being unmarried duly signed by father and mother and countersigned by the village Sarpanch. Ration Card issued by Food and Supply Officer  should be duly affixed with photographs of family members (Mother, Father, Sister and Brother). Candidate below the age of 18 years should bring a certificate duly signed by parents (Farther I Mother) for no objection in joining the Indian Army. Joint Family photograph with candidate duly attested by Sarpanch on reverse of joint photograph would have to be produced during documentation.
He said that candidates who do not produce the required supporting documents  like Photos, Mark Sheet, Original Certificate, Relationship Certificate, Domicile Certificate, Character Certificate, Unmarried certificate, Underage certificate, Discharge Book and Pay Book (AB-64), as applicable at the entry gate would not be permitted to take part in the recruitment rally. Candidate should bring all original certificates alongwith two photocopies of each certificate. Certificate with cutting or overwriting would not be accepted.
He said that son of serviceman, ex-serviceman, widows and son, adopted son, son in law of war widows should bring relationship certificate from Record Office stating name of son, date of birth, part II Order Number with signature with Number, Rank, Name and Designation of SRO or CRO with official seal. No FIR would be accepted for loss of pay book or discharge book of wards of son of serviceman, ex serviceman, widow, son or adopted son or son-in-law of war widows (Only if War Widows doesn't have own son).  NCC Certificate holders and Sports Certificate holders should produce original certificate. No Mobile Phones would  be permitted inside the rally ground. Common Entrance Exam would  be conducted for all the successful candidates in Physical Tests. Medical Test and Document Check  would be conducted at Model School, Rohtak on October 31, 2010.
The recruitment in the Army was free, fair and based on merit and candidates were advised to beware of any touts or anti-social elements. Touts could not get the candidates recruited in Indian Army, he added.
