HIT Dept to constitue committees for admissions in ITIs

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 15
With a view to ensure maximum enrollment of students in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) during academic session 2011-12, Haryana Industrial Training Department has decided to constitute committees in all ITIs in the state.
While stating this today, Haryana Education Minister, Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal, who also hold the portfolio of Industrial Training Department, said that these committees would be constituted before June 21, 2011 so that students could not face any difficulty during admission process.
The Minister said that Principals of ITIs would serve as Chairperson or Coordinator of the committee for admission in main ITIs at district level. Vice Principals would act as Member Secretary and two senior principals of other ITIs in the district would be Members of the committee. Any official in whose name serious complaint was registered during last year, would not be engaged in admission process.
For admission in Women ITIs, Principal or Headmistress of concerned ITI would be Chairperson of the committee. Senior Headmistress or Group Instructor would act as Member and office Deputy Superintendent or Assistant or Clerk would be Member Secretary of the committee. Similarly, for admission to advance module, Principal or Incharge Group Instructor of concerned ITI would be Chairperson, Vice Principal or Group Instructor as Member and office Superintendent or Deputy Superintendent or Assistant or senior most Clerk would serve as Member Secretary of the committee.
Mrs. Bhukkal said that as many as 1396 government ITIs were being upgraded under public private partnership to start new courses. The Institute Management Committee could allow admission to 20 per cent seats in these institutes at their own level. Out of total sanctioned seats in ITI Sahalawas, district Jhajjar, 10 per cent seats would have to be kept reserve for migrated families whose land was acquired for setting up of Thermal Power Plant at Jharli by Adani Power Corporation Private Limited.
