Nominations for National Award for e-Governance invited

CHANDIGARH, AUG 16
Haryana Electronics and Information Technology Department has invited nominations of deserving initiatives for national awards for e-Governance for the year 2011-12.
            While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, in association with Department of Information Technology, Government of India, would present the national award for e-Governance to recognize and promote excellence in implementation of e-Governance initiatives.
            The awards would be presented during 15th national conference on e-Governance scheduled to be held in February 2012 at Bhubaneswar in Orissa.
            For the year 2011-12, these awards would be presented in seven different categories which included excellence in Government process re-engineering, exemplary re-use of ICT based solutions, outstanding performance in citizen-centric service delivery, innovative use of technology in e-Governance, innovative use of ICT by public sector undertakings for customers’ benefits, best Government portal and specific sectoral award: focus sector for current year: local Government.

            While seeking nominations from all Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Managing Directors, Chief Executives and Chief Administrators of Boards, Corporations and Authorities, the Department of Electronics and Information Technology has urged them to send nominations at e-mail awards.arpg@gmail.com and awards.arpg.nic.in by September 15, 2011.
