Two-hour painting competitions in Haryana schools

 Director, School Education, Haryana, Mr Vijayendra Kumar said that all school headmasters or principals have been asked to organise painting competitions of two hours duration introduced  at school level for the students of IV, V  and VI standards by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Union Ministry of Power.
          He said that for painting competition, students could pick any of the three theme topics which included save electricity to avoid power cuts, use energy with care and the less you burn, the more you earn.
          He said that the students could use pencils, crayons, colour pencils and water colours. While painting, they should keep in mind relevance of the theme depicting the selected topic, execution of concept or theme and overall visual appeal, handling of given space and use of appropriate colour combination.
          Mr Vijayendra Kumar said that school headmasters or principals have been asked to select two best paintings and send them along with information about number of students participated at school level competition to the address of State Nodal Officer by October 4, 2011. 
The back of the painting should carry the name of the student, his or her standard, school name and address, state, father's or mother's name, roll number, school located in urban or rural area, telephone or mobile number of parent’s e-mail ID of student,if any, school telephone number or mobile number or e-mail address and signature of the school principal.
          Paintings not signed by the school principal or sent directly by student's parents would not be accepted, he added.
          Mr Vijayendra Kumar said that all the participating students at school level painting competition would get a 'Certificate of Participation' and two best selected paintings would get 'Certificate of Merit' which would be signed by School Principal and Director General — Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power. The schools which would record 100 per cent participation in the IV, V and VI standards,as applicable, at the school level painting competition, their names would be included in the painting competition booklet prepared by BEE, he added.
          He said that first, second and third prize winners of State level painting competition of the last two years (2009 and 2010) were not eligible to participate in this year competition. The consolation prize winners of State level Painting Competition might participate, but they would be considered for prizes if they won first, second and third prize at the State level.
