Christmas celebrations ushered in a feeling of good will, joy, happiness and merriment in the school. A favorite festival of the winter season is a time for beloved traditions that are honored year after year. Therefore the preparations seize every one’s fancy much before –the Christmas Day on December 25. The Christmas tree, an evergreen ,beautifully decorated tree with tinsel and lights adorned the reception of the school. Lovely cut –outs of the bells signifying the arrival of Santa Clause, are put up in almost all corners of the school. ‘Merry Christmas’, these greetings are in the air and everyone is rejoicing with a hope for future happiness and prosperity.
A short but impressive cultural programme presented by the joyful and spirited children added to the enjoyment. Col. Tejinder Singh was the chief guest for the ceremony. A captivating ‘Nativity Scene’ prepared by Ms Rachel was presented by the young students from classes 3-5 who did full justice to it with their appreciable acting and oratory skills. The carols exuded warmth and festivity to the atmosphere.
Tiny –tots of classes Pre-Nur and Prep expressed their delight by swaying and swinging to the tune of Jingle Bells. Students of class I and II exchanged gifts and celebrated the birth of Christ with well prepared dances.
The senior students also caught up in rejoicing and made everyone in the audience tap their feet and join in merry making by presenting a well synchronized dance.
After this Santa was greeted with cheerful shouts as he went around distributing sweets to the children. But this was not the end of the celebrations as a lot of enjoyment was still in store for all the students in the ‘Class party’ which was organized after the cultural programme.
Christmas cards and greetings were exchanged as the happy faces went home to spread joy and happiness by being compassionate, tolerant and affectionate – imbibing the true spirit of Christmas.
Principal Samson Masih congratulated everyone and wished ‘Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to one and all. ‘Christmas is a state of mind when you cherish good will. The real spirit of Christmas is to have mercy and be good human beings, he added.
