IMCM achieves 100 per cent placement

The Institute of Mass Communication and Media Technology of Kurukshetra University has achieved 100 per cent placement for the students of B.Tech. in Printing, Graphics and Packaging course for the year 2011-12.
While stating this today, a spokesman of the Institute said that all the 28 students in final year of the course have been absorbed by the industrial houses or short-listed for future placement. Out of them, 18 students have already been selected by different houses of the packaging industry with a pay package ranging from Rs two lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh per annum. Three students namely Ms.Bhanu, Mr Vishal Sharma and Mr Mandhir have been offered  a package of Rs.2.5 lakh per annum and others have been placed at Rs.two lakh per annum.  Besides, four students have been short-listed by different companies for employment. Also, six students of the course have been selected for MTech programme in different universities.
The Institute of Mass Communication of Kurukshetra University is the first in the country to start B.Tech. course with this nomenclature.  After automobile industry, packaging is the second largest industry in the world. The placement of the students of this course has shown that they are a much sought after personnel while there is worldwide slack down in employment for even highly trained postgraduate technical degree holders. The course, therefore, holds immense significance for the graduate level technical degree holders. During last year also students of the this course had got hundred percent placement.
About 100 students from different courses run by the Institute have been selected for practical summer training during this academic session.Also,51 students are getting training in print media houses including leading newspapers of the country. Besides, 34 students have been attached with electronic media houses.  Nine of the students are getting training in public relations with the Department of Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, Haryana. Two students are on training with the leading advertising Houses.  Admission to the B.Tech. in  Printing, Graphics and  Packaging course, which is based on merit of All India Engineering Entrance Test and other courses has already started, he added.
