Haryana Financial Commissioner and
Principal Secretary, Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, Dr
K.K.Khandelwal today said that Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda would
shortly give away Haryana Patrakar Puruskars for the years 2010 and 2011 to the
media persons.
Dr
Khandelwal, who was, accompanied by Director General, Information, Public
Relations and Cultural Affairs, Mr Anand M. Sharan, interacting with media
persons at the weekly get-together in Haryana Media Centre here today, said
that a total of 811 entries have been received for State as well as district
level awards. For the year 2010 and 2011, as many as 101 and 143 entries have
been received for State level awards respectively. For district level awards,
203 entries have been received for 2010 and 364 for 2011.
He said
that the categories under which the awards are conferred included Lifetime
Achievement Award, two State Level Commemorative Awards, 13 State Level Awards
and 147 District Level Awards. The topics for the awards included development;
communal harmony; investigative journalism; analysis of political, social,
economic and industrial activities in the State; issues of public interest and
impressive photographs showing development of the State.
He said
that while the Lifetime Achievement Award comprised Rs 1.51 lakh in cash, a
citation and a shawl, two Commemorative Awards were of Rs one lakh each with a
citation and a shawl. The 13 State Level Awards carried Rs 51,000 each in cash,
a citation and a shawl. Also, each of the 147 District Level Awards that is
seven for each district carried Rs 21,000 in cash, a citation and a shawl.
He said
that previously cash awards totaling Rs 44.41 lakh were given away to media
persons by the Chief Minister.
Mr Anand
M. Sharan said that the media mobile van of the Department, which served as a
mobile media centre functional and covering functions of Chief Minister and
other significant events. This air conditioned van is equipped with computers,
printers, phone, TV set, internet facility and has a small pantry. It also has
a toilet.
