Uniform pay to contractual employees of power utilities

CHANDIGARH, AUG 23
 Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced to give uniform pay to all contractual employees of power utilities, either engaged through contractors or direct,  and in addition they would get the facilities of Employee State Insurance (ESI) and Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
The Chief Minister who was presiding over a meeting of All Haryana Power Corporations Workers Union and representatives of Haryana State Electricity Board workers union. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that all contractual employees are issued ESI cards.
            Mr Hooda also announced to give production bonus to the employees working in State’s Thermal power projects. This, he said, would be an incentive for generation of power. It would be counted on daily, monthly and  annually basis.
He also directed to take stern action against those found making theft of power. He also urged the employees of Power Utilities to work with dedication so as to increase general performance of the power utilities. Mr. Hooda directed that a campaign should be launched to check theft of power. He also said that effective steps should be taken to check line loses.
He said that FIRs should be lodged against those contractors found indulged in corrupt practices for connections of tubewells.
Those present on the meeting included Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Power, Mr Vinod Bhayana, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Chhatar Singh, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. K. K. Khandelwal, Additional Chief Secretary Power, Mr. Ajit M. Sharan and other senior officers of the State Government.
