All Haryana residents to receive Aadhar Cards by March 2013

Haryana Chief Minister  Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that all residents of Haryana would be provided with Aadhar Cards by March 2013. As many as 3000 machines would be used to achieve this target.
          Mr. Hooda said this in a meeting with Chairman, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Mr. Nandan Nilekani here today.
          Mr. Hooda said that Haryana has a total population of about 2.53 crore and in this third phase of providing Aadhar Cards to the people of the State, about 1.5 lakh people would be covered daily.
          Mr. Hooda directed the officials to instal machines in various districts keeping in view their respective population.
          It was informed in the meeting that Smart Cards were being provided to people of four districts through special camps and for providing Smart Cards to the people in other 17 districts, tenders would be invited within next 15 days.
          In the meeting an officer of UIDAI apprised Mr. Hooda that they would provide technical, financial and any other kind of help required for making Aadhar Cards.
          It was informed that 11 per cent of total population of the State has been covered under second phase of making Aadhar Cards. Out of total enrolment of 26 lakh in the State about 22.3 lakh Aadhar Numbers have been generated and 20.2 lakh cards have been delivered to residents.
          Mr. Hooda also apprised Mr. Nilekani about various developmental schemes being implemented  by the Government in the State.
          Haryana Education Minister, Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal, Chief Secretary, P.K. Chaudhery, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Chhatar Singh, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Shiv Raman Gaur, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue Department Mr. Krishna Mohan, Additional Chief Secretary, Food and Supplies Department, Mrs. Shakuntala Jakhu, Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Mrs. Surina Rajan, Principal Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Mr.R.R. Jowel, Director General-cum-Special Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Mr. Ashok Kumar Yadav, Director, Information Technology, Mr. Nitin Kumar Yadav and other senior officers of UIDAI were also present in the meeting.
