Entrance Exams for admission in Sainik School Kunjpura

Sainik School Kunjpura district Karnal, Haryana has invited applications for admission to class VI and IX for the academic session 2013-14 through All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam to be held on January 6, 2013.
          While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that only boys were eligible for admission  to Sainik School Kunjpura. He said that for admission to class VI, boys born between July 2, 2002 and July 1, 2003 (both days inclusive) were eligible whereas for admission to class IX boys born between July 2, 1999 and July 1, 2000 (both days inclusive) were eligible. He said that the entrance exam would be held at examination centres in Delhi, Rohtak and Kunjpura. He said that the curriculum would be based on XII Science stream of CBSE, New Delhi. He said that about 90 seats for class VI and 20 seats for class IX have been proposed.
          He said that the prospectus- cum- application form could be obtained from the office of Principal, Sainik School Kunjpura from October 15 to December 3, 2012 on all working days between 10 a.m. and 1p.m. by paying Rs 400 in cash for General and Defence categories and Rs 250 for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories. The prospectus could also be obtained by post by sending an application in plain paper by mentioning address and category along with a Demand Draft of Rs 400 for General and Defence categories and Rs 290 for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories, drawn in favour of Principal of the school, payable at State Bank of India, Kunjpura (Branch Code No. 2400). He said that duly filled in  applications should reach Principal, Sainik School Kunjpura in district Karnal, Haryana  by 2 p.m. on December 10, 2012. The prospectus could also be downloaded from school’s website www.sskunjpura.org and applicants could also call at phone number 0184-2384510 for any other information, he added.
          He said that 25 per cent seats have been reserved for defence personnel including ex-servicemen and 15 per cent for Scheduled Castes and 7.5 per cent for Scheduled Tribes and remaining seats for General category. He said that Sainik School, Kunjpura mainly caters to the boys of Haryana and Delhi states and certain numbers of seats are thrown open to the boys of other states and Union Territories.
          He said that the school prepared boys academically, mentally and physically for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla, Pune. He said that Sainik School Kunjpura was one such Sainik School of the country which has sent maximum number of candidates for National Defence Academy that is 1200 cadets. He said that more than 2500 cadets passed out from this school were rendering service  in different sectors along with the defence sector. He said that Sainik School, Kunjpura has bagged Defence Minister Trophy consecutively for seventh time for sending maximum number of cadets to National Defence Academy.
