HAFED to produce and suppy certified wheat seeds

While considering dire need of farm sector for certified seeds, the Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (HAFED), is now producing and supplying certified seeds of Wheat of  “HAFED” brand to the farmers.

          While stating this here today, a spokesman of the HAFED said that the HAFED has set up a modern seed processing plant at Gannaur in district Sonepat and has produced over  90,000 quintals of good quality Certified wheat seed of promising varieties for sale to the farmers in the state during the current Rabi season. The seeds are being sold at the Government approved subsidized rates. HAFED brand Wheat Seed of varieties DBW-17, WH-711, C-306, PBW-550, HD-2851, RAJ-3765 and WH-1021 are now available at Government approved subsidized rates at farmers’ doorstep through the network of Cooperative Marketing Societies, primary agriculture cooperative societies or mini banks and sale outlets of HAFED.

          He said that the HAFED, which is an apex cooperative federation of Haryana, has been in service and welfare of farmers of the State through various activities like supply of agricultural Inputs like fertilizers, pesticides and seeds.

He said that the HAFED has also made advance stock  of DAP and Urea fertilisers to ensure their timely supply to the farmers during current Rabi season. As on date over 1.10 lakh metric tonnes of DAP and over 80,000 metric tonnes of urea are available with HAFED at different centres in the State. There is no shortage of these fertilisers in the state, he added.
