Haryana Govt providing subsidy on certified seeds

With a view to enhance per acre yield and encourage diversification of crops, the Haryana Government is providing subsidy  on certified seeds.
            While stating this today, a spokesman of Haryana Seed Development Corporation (HSDC) said that farmers of the  four districts namely Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal and Panipat  were being provided with seeds on subsidized rate  for Rabi crops.
            He said that various varieties of wheat namely DBW-17, PBW-550, PBW-502, PBW-590, PBW-343, PBW-373, WH-711, WH-542 and HD-2851, HD-2894, were being provided at the rate of Rs 2050 per quintal as against its original price of Rs 2550 per quintal. The farmers are being given a subsidy of Rs 500  per quintal.
            He said that HC-1 variety of gram costing Rs 8000 per quintal was being provided at a rate of Rs 5800 per quintal after per quintal subsidy of Rs 2200. Similarly, varieties of Sapna and Garima of lentil costing Rs 6100 per quintal was being provided at Rs 4900 per quintal after per quintal subsidy of Rs 1200 whereas its variety HM-1 is being provided at Rs 4900 per quintal as against its original cost of Rs 7100 per quintal after per quintal subsidy of Rs 2200.
            He said that RH-30 of mustard was being provided at a rate of Rs 4800 per quintal after per quintal subsidy of Rs 1200 and T-9 and TL-15 varieties of 'Toria' were being provided at Rs 4000 per quintal after per quintal subsidy of Rs 1200. The seeds of 'Barseem' were being provided at a rate of Rs 20 per quintal after per quintal subsidy of 90 per cent whereas seeds of oat were being provided free of cost. He said that it was mandatory for the farmers to take permit from concerned officer of Agriculture Department for purchas of seeds of  'Barseem' and oat.
            He said that these seeds were being provided to the farmers at Ladwa, Umri, Ismailabad and Pehowa in district Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Kalayat, Pundri and Cheeka in district Kaithal, procurement centre of Corporation at Karnal, Gharaunda and Assandh in district Karnal and procurement centre of Corporation at Panipat and Samalkha in district Panipat.
