Kurukhshetra Varisity to promote 43 teachers as professors

Also to appoint four Assistant Professors on budget posts and 342 Assistant Professors on contract basis

Kurukshetra University’s Executive Council has taken several important decisions which included promotion of 43 teachers as professors, appointment of four Assistant Professors on budget posts and 342 Assistant Professors on contract basis and establishment of Jagat Guru Shri Bhramanand Sarswati Chair in the Department of Philosophy.

          While stating this today, a spokesman of the university said that the Council has also approved further extension of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the university with Arya Sabha of Mauritius from December 2012 for a period of five years. The terms and conditions of the MoU would remain the same. He said that these decisions have been taken as per the recommendations of selection committees of 33 professors of the university under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS). He said that all these professors have been promoted as per Sixth Pay Commission guidelines of University Grants Commission and Union Ministry of Human Resource Development as adopted by Haryana Government. He said that university framed the Academic Performance Indicators (API) and got them approved by the Executive Council for promotions of teachers and new appointments. He said that these promotions and appointments would strengthen the academic infrastructure of the University.

          He said that Jagat Guru Shri Bhramanand Sarswati Chair would be instituted in the Department of Philosophy from October 2012. The chair would conduct research on the philosophy and teachings of Shri Bhramanand. He said that the university would now have six chairs in different departments as per letter received from Director General, Higher Education.
