CHANDIGARH, NOV 6
Deputy
Commissioner Sirsa, Dr. J Ganeshan today distributed cheques amounting to Rs
40,000 from Haryana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to three persons suffering
from Chronic disease.
While
stating this today, a spokesman of district
administration said that Jarnail Singh, a resident of village Mallikpura,
district Sirsa was given cheque of Rs 15,000 for the treatment of cancer,
Nakshatar Singh, a resident of village Sukhchain and Salinder, a
resident of village Fatehpur Jotanwali were given cheques of Rs
10,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
He
said that under Chief Minister's Relief Fund, a sum of Rs 7.45 lakh has so far
been distributed to 48 persons suffering from cancer and diseases concerning
kidney and heart. He said that under Chief Minister's Relief Fund, people
belonging to below poverty line families were given financial assistance for the
treatment of various diseases. To get financial assistance in this regard, the
case is sent to the State headquarters for decision on funds after taking into
consideration report of disease issued by Civil Surgeon and Tehsildar and
financial status of the applicant.
He said that the State Government has implemented various schemes for providing
health related facilities to the people which included Free Surgical Package
Scheme, Nehru Drishti Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana and Plastic
Surgery Yojana. He said that a number of below poverty line families have so
far been benefitted under Free Surgical Package Scheme.
He said that with a view to provide modern health facilities
to the poor, a health fund has also been established. There is a provision of
exemption from income tax for those contributing to this health fund.
