CII to organise conference on Investment opportunities in northern states

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will organize a two-day conference on ‘Investment Opportunities in Northern States’ on November 3 and 4 in  Gurgaon  in which about 550 representatives including those from Australia, Canada, Singapore and America would participate.
        While stating this here today, a spokesman of the CII said that in this conference discussion would be held on investment opportunities with respect to changing perception of India and coordination of investors with Central and State Governments. He said that in the inaugural session Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs. Sheila Dikshit and Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal would participate. Also, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Mr. Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Mr. Vijay Bahuguna and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Akhilesh Yadav would hold a discussion on Investment Opportunities in Northern India.
        He said that on November 3, a session on Investment Opportunities in Haryana would be held between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda would be the Chief Guest of this session whereas Haryana Industries Minister, Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala and Chief Secretary, Mr. P.K Chaudhery would also be present. In this conference Haryana would be presented as Brand Haryana for investment and with this Haryana would emerge as first choice of the investors for investment. Also, on first day focus session would be held to discuss investment opportunities in Rajasthan and Punjab along with Haryana.   
        He said that on November 3, panel discussion with young Members of Parliament regarding investment opportunities would also be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in which MPs inlcuding Mr. Deepender Singh Hooda, Mr. Tarun Vijay, Mr. Dushyant Singh, Mr. Jayanth Chaudhary and Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal would participate. This session would focus on changing perception of India particularly in northern region, ideas for engaging young population for the development of northern region and vision for northern region and their respective States.
        He said that in the inaugural session Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister, Dr. M Veerappa Moily, Union Minister of Law, Mr. Ashwani Kumar and Deputy Chairman of Union Planning Commission, Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia would also participate. He said that on second day, discussion would be held regarding investment opportunities in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Chandigarh.
