Global youth leaders visit Manesar village

 A delegation of global youth leaders from various parts of the world visited Manesar village in district Gurgaon where they were impressed to see the facilities being provided by the Haryana Government at the Aanganwadi Center. The delegation has come to participate in World Economic Forum (WEF) summit being organized in Gurgaon from November 6  to 9. The delegation was lead by Deputy Prime Minister of Zimbabwe Mr Arthur Mutambara who desired to start such scheme on similar pattern in his country.
          Mr Mutambara appreciated the scheme run for welfare of women and children. This shows the commitment of the government towards the health care of women and children. They were getting hygienic food through these centers. He said that in Africa, there were many countries where a number of expectant mothers and new born died due to malnutrition. Mr Mutambara said that after going back, he would recommend the government there to initiate such a scheme for providing nutritious food and health care of the women and children.
          Mr Madhugaur Yashki, Lok Sabha Member from Andhra Pradesh who is also member of Global Youth Leaders, accompanied the delegation. While interacting with his foreign counterparts, he said that he had been to various states of India to review the facilities being provided to the women there, Haryana certainly is one of the states where the Aanganwadi Scheme is being implemented in right perspective and it is in real sense fulfilling the objective with which the scheme was launched. In Haryana, the Aanganwadi centers have separate buildings of their own while some other states were lacking on this aspect. Mr Yashki also told his colleagues from foreign countries that Haryana, though a small state just adjoining to national capital Delhi, is seen as a leading state in the country which has good growth rate.
           The delegation also had dialogue with the women and children present in the Anganwadi Center and got more information about   care of their nutrition. The officials of Woman and Child Department of government of Haryana apprised the delegation that the Anganwadi Scheme was launched in India in the year 1975. After that, it was ensured at the center that the children below the age of 6 years and expectant mothers were properly vaccinated and got nutritious food. They were distributed some food items at the center also. Anganwadi centers were running in villages where two ladies from same village were appointed as anganwadi worker and anganwadi helper. Then there is a supervisor to check these centers. There are 25699 anganwadi centers running in 127 villages and 12 towns of Haryana.
