Government sets up Fish Seed Farm in Sirsa

CHANDIGARH,  NOV 16

With a view to give a big boost to fish farming in Haryana, the State Government has set up a Government Fish Seed Farm costing Rs 36 lakh near Ottu Weir in district Sirsa.

            While stating this today, an official spokesman said that this fish farm was not only fulfilling the demand of seed of fish farmers of district Sirsa, but was also exporting fish seed  to other districts. From the month of April to August, 28.15 lakh fish seed  were prepared by this fish seed farm.

            He said that the farmers and youth of district Sirsa had started considering fish farming as a profitable business. During the current financial year, till now 5685 tonnes of fish has been produced, which is exemplary. He said that this Government Fish Seed Farm  has been playing a significant role in accelerating the pace of blue revolution.

            He said that ten nurseries have been set up in this international level fish seed farm having latest technology. It is also equipped with stocking tank alongwith the facility  to stock for big fish. He said that in this seed farm seeds of four varieties of fish of Indian major carp including Rohu, Catla, Mrigal and common carp were prepared.

 POLICE ANNOUNCES RS 2 LAKH AWARD ANNOUNCED
 Haryana Director General of Police, Mr. Shriniwas Vashist has announced a reward of Rs. two lakh for anyone who will provide information on whereabouts of  Kolbir, a resident of village Bond Kalan, district Bhiwani, the main accused in the murder of two brothers in Bond yesterday.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Police said that   information in this regard could be provided to Superintendent of Police, Bhiwani on mobile number 8814011400  or Control Room Bhiwani on phone No. 01664-242744.

 BRIJENDRA SINGH GIVEN ADDITIONAL CHARGE
