Haryana exports cross Rs 49 crore during 2010-11

Exports from Haryana have crossed Rs. 48,530 crore during the year 2010-11 and the State has so far received Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of Rs. 13,128.81 crore, of which an investment of Rs. 9628.81 crore has come up after   implementation of the Industrial Policy, 2005.
          While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Industries and Commerce Department said that having catalyzed an investment of about Rs.61,000 crore since 2005 and an investment of about Rs. 97,000 crore being in the pipeline, Haryana has more than 1,000 projects with foreign technical or  financial collaboration. The State Government has announced its new “Industrial and Investment Policy-2011” which is effective from January 1, 2011. The new Policy is expected to expand the investment horizons in different sectors of economy to the relatively backward areas of the state.
          He said that 783 IEMs have been implemented in Haryana with an investment of Rs.24,302.86 crore providing employment to more than 1.89 lakh  persons since the year 2005-06.He said that   from 2005-06 to August 2012, a total of 1021 IEMs, catalyzing an investment of Rs. 38,750.68 crore with  employment potential for more than 3.08 lakh persons  were filed with Government of India.      
          He said that the State has a  rich industrial base with 1362 large and medium units, out of which 113 units have been set up during 2005-2011 with an investment of Rs. 2887.65 crore providing employment to 19,626 persons. About 83,000 Small Scale Industrial or MSME units have also been set-up in the State out of which 15,440 units were set up during 2005-2011 with an investment of Rs.6823.84 crore providing employment to 2,35,573  persons.
          He said that as it has become imperative to understand the dynamics of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Sector in the background of new parameters fixed under the provisions of MSME Development Act, 2006, the Department has undertaken a fresh survey of industrial units established and operating in the State.  It is simultaneously intended to create a database of the number of existing and operating industrial units along with those in the process of being established. The Department has engaged an agency namely Mott MacDonald to undertake and complete the survey. 
The survey to be conducted on a 100 per cent  enumeration basis, will cover a complete list of industrial establishments  including large, medium,  small and micro units and would also cover all such registered or unregistered establishments like petty enterprises without substantive equipment that is tailoring, cycle or vehicle-repair and poultry, which qualify more as service industry.The said agency has started the enumeration of the industrial units in the state, he added.
