Haryana to observe Quami Ekta Week from Nov 19-25

The Haryana Government has decided to observe “Quami Ekta Week” from November 19 to 25.
        While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that National Integration Pledge would be taken by the government employees working in the Haryana Civil Secretariat and New Secretariat building, Sector 17 at 11 a.m. at ground floor of the main secretariat building on November 19. Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr. P.K. Chaudhery would preside over this pledge taking ceremony. Meetings, symposia and seminars would also be held to highlight the themes of secularism  and non-violence.
        He said that on November 20, Welfare of Minorities Day would be observed and items of 15-point programme of Prime Minister would be highlighted.  Language Harmony Day would be observed on November 21 with special literacy functions and kavi sammelans.  Weaker Sections Day would be observed on November 22 and meetings and rallies would be organized to popularize  various programmes being implemented by the State Government for the welfare of members belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, he added.
        He said that on November 23, Cultural Unity Day would be observed to promoter rich cultural heritage of the country and promote   national  integration. The role of women in the development of nation building would be highlighted on Women’s Day which would be observed on November 24. On November 25, Conservation Day would be observed and meetings and functions would be organised to emphasize the growing need for awareness about  conservation of  environment, he added.
