CHANDIGARH, NOV 15
Two students of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur
Kalan in district Sonepat would be honoured with Indira Gandhi National Award
for their outstanding performance in the field of National Services Scheme
(NSS). President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee would give away awards to these
students in a function to be organized at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi on
November 19.
While
stating this today, a spokesman of the university said that the girls who have
been selected for this award included Ms. Monika Dhillon and Ms. Priyanka Malik,
students of Institute of Higher Learning.
EK SHAM HARYANAVI SANKSKRITI KE NAAM
Haryana Kala Parishad would organize a cultural programme ‘Ek Sham
Haryanavi Sanskriti Ke Naam’ in collaboration with Dada Lakhmi Chand Kala Vikas
Manch, Panipat at senior wing of S.D. Vidya Mandir School, Sector 12, Panipat
on November 17.
While
stating this today, Director of Haryana Kala Parishad, Mrs. Usha Sharma said
that Speaker of Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mr. Kuldeep Sharma would be the Chief
Guest in this function. Apart from this, a programme on religios ragnis of
Pandit Lakhmi Chand would also be organized at Kapal Mochan Bilaspur, Yamunanagar
on November 25.
HARYANA KI-DHOOM-5 FROM NOV 21 TO 23
Haryana Kala Parishad would organize a three-day competition known
as ‘Haryana Ki Dhoom-5’ on Folk-Dances, Art and Ragnies of Haryana at Yavnika
Open Air Theatre, Sector-5, Panchkula from November 21 to 23.
While
stating this today, Director of Haryana Kala Parishad, Mrs. Usha Sharma said
that Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation, Revenue and Forest Department,
Mr. Krishna Mohan would be the Chief Guest whereas Mr Justice S. K. Mittal,
Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh would be the Chief Guest on
the concluding day and would also give away the prizes to winners.
She
said that during these days, Division and State level competitions of Haryanavi
Folk Dances and Ragnies would be organized. She said that the program would
begin at 4:30 p.m. on all three days and there would be no entry fee.
POLICE TRACES GIRL STUDENT
Haryana Police
has succeeded in tracing the Class VIII student of village Kathura in district
Sonepat, who had suddenly disappeared from her home on Monday last. She has
been sent back to her parents as she was found at Lakshmi Nagar in Bhiwani.
Stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that a resident
of village Kathura namely Jasbir Singh had lodged a report with the police that
an unknown person had misguided his 14-year old daughter and had taken her
along. The police recovered the girl within a short time.
On interrogation, the girl informed the police that his family members used to
quarrel with each other and she being scared of it, she reached railway station
Bhiwani and was waiting for a train to arrive. She said that a resident of
Bhiwani namely Charan Singh who is an old man, had come to the railway station
to see off someone. He saw this girl and brought her to his home. That old man
and his wife kept the girl at their place, but as the police came to know that
the girl was in Bhiwani, they recovered her and returned the girl to her
parents. The girl was produced in the court where she admitted that she had
left her home on her own will.
DIGITAL CLASSROOMS TO START ON NOV 19
Digital
classrooms will start functioning in 71 Government Senior Secondary Schools in
district Sirsa on November 19 as this Rs two crore scheme would be inaugurated
by the MP Dr Ashok Tanwar in Sirsa.
While stating this today, a spokesman of district administration said that
these schools would have projectors, computers and smart boards. All these
digital classrooms would have digital syllabus of upto class XII and the smart
board would be used to teach students.
He said that the same day, Dr Ashok Tanwar would give kits of utensils to
Anganwadi Centres. He said that 1042 Anganwadi Centres were functioning in the
district and the inmate children would get utensils for their meals.
