Belarus keen on setting up Minsk Motor manufacturing unit

Belarus has evinced keen interest in setting up an engine assembly and manufacture unit of Minsk Motor, in Haryana and the Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda offered to provide land for the same in the State.Minsk Motor is the largest Belarusian Company and leading manufacturer of modern diesel engines.
          Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda was interacting with Ambassador of Republic of Belarus in India Mr Vitaly.A.Prima and Senior Counsellor, Trade and Economic issues, Embassy of Belarus Mr. Vladimir Kremyanko, as they called on Mr Hooda here today.
Mr Vitaly.A.Prima said that the company is also manufacturing a maximum number of tractor and combine harvester engines annually.
          Mr. Hooda said that the Company could set up its unit either at Industrial Model Township (IMT), Rohtak or at other industrial townships which would soon come  up in the State. Mr. Hooda offered full support of the State Government to Belarus for setting up of this unit in Haryana
Mr. Vitaly said that Haryana is among the highly developed State of India in the field of agriculture, industries and infrastructure and also ranks second in the most industrially developed States in the country. He said that Haryana has become a popular destination for the   national and international companies to set up their ventures and considering the industrial friendly atmosphere being provided by the State Government, Belarus has selected Haryana as the proper place to set up this unit. He said that the Company manufactures diesel engines with power ranging between 50 and 350 horse powers for various applications like automobiles, tractor, and road building machinery, forestry, buses, and combine  harvesters.  These engines are easy to operate and require less maintenance.
Mr. Vitaly also handed over an invitation letter to Mr. Hooda on behalf of the Prime Minister of Belarus Dr. Mikhail Myasnikovich requesting him to visit Belarus. Mr. Hooda accepted the invitation letter and conveyed his best wishes to him. Mr. Vitaly described Mr. Hooda as a successful Chief Minister. He said that there are other areas of mutual interest where both Belarus and Haryana could cooperate.
          While appreciating the tractors and other machineries manufactured by Belarus, Mr. Hooda said that he himself was a farmer and he had used tractor manufactured by Belarus. He said that the Company could manufacture engines required in vehicles, agriculture implements like harvesters and trolleys. Mr. Hooda said that Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh have a good market for these implements.  He said that as the land  holding has been shrinking ,the Company could manufacture tractors of small Horse Power according to the requirement of the farmers.
          Mr. Hooda said that Haryana and Belarus could also cooperate in other areas like agriculture marketing and packaging, strorage of foodgrains.  
          Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Chhatar Singh, Additional Principal Secretary Dr K. K. Khandelwal, Principal Secretary, Industries Mr. Y.S. Malik and Managing Director, HSIIDC Mr. Tarun Bajaj were also present on the occasion.
