The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda would
visit Bhutan on December 14 to take up the issue of setting up of a
hydro power project for Haryana.
While
stating this today, Political Advisor to Haryana Chief Minister,
Prof.Virender said that efforts were being made to solve the power
problem permanently with the hydro power project.
He
said that steps have also been taken to set up a 2800 MW Nuclear Power
Plant at Gorakhpur in Fatehabad at a cost of Rs.23,502 crore. If in
future the state had to face the scarcity of coal, carefully planned
Nuclear Power Plant would serve the purpose, he added.
The
Political Advisor made it clear that although it was a fact that for
setting up of a Nuclear Power Plant and a Hydro Power Plant much time
was needed and these could not generate power before the ensuing Vidhan
Sabha election, yet the Chief Minister had taken a bold step without
any selfish motive for the benefit of future generations.
While
referring to the far sightedness of the Chief Minister, he said that
during the last seven-and-a-half years, four thermal power plants have
been set up in the state. With a view to give impetus to the development
of state, the Mr.Bhupinder Singh Hooda has taken a number of innovative
decisions so that the future generations could reap the benefits of
these schemes for years to come. The opposition leaders are misleading
the people by presenting wrong statistics. Also, they have not done any
remarkable work during their regime which could be remembered by the
people.
Prof.Virender
slammed the opposition parties by asking them to reveal what steps had
been taken by them, when they were in power, for the development of the
state. They did not set up even a single new power plant. No government
medical college or medical university was also established by them,
whereas during the regime of Chief Minister Mr.Bhupinder Singh Hooda,
four government medical colleges and a premier institute that is
AIIMS-II have also been set up. He said that a National Cancer Institute
costing Rs.2100 crore and a Heart Centre would also be set up in the
complex of AIIMS-II at Badhsa in district jhajjar.
While
questioning the opposition leaders, he asked them how many railway
lines had been got sanctioned by them. In the current regime, the Chief
Minister has got sanctioned three railway lines, three Metro Rail and
three Rapid Rail. Also, a proposal has also been forwarded to the
Government of India for setting up of a railway factory in the state. He
further said that the State Government has also accorded its approval
to provide half of the cost of Chandigarh Yamuna-Nagar railway line. He
revealed that after the formation of Haryana, during the last 40 years,
only one railway line had been constructed, during the Congress regime,
when Mr.Bansi Lal was the Union Railway Minister.
He
also urged the opposition parties that they should apprise the people
on the number of Railway Over Bridges (ROB’s) constructed by them.
Although he knows that opposition parties have no answer to this typical
question, it is his duty to reveal the fact to the people that from
November 1966 to March 5, 2005, only 16 ROB’s have been constructed in
the state at a cost of Rs.93 crore, whereas the present government had
incurred a sum of Rs.630 crore for construction of 30 ROBs. In addition
to it, work on 29 ROB’s is in progress at a cost of Rs.1080 crore. Apart
from this eight new ROBs costing Rs.362 crore are also in the pipeline.
The Chief Minister has taken an initiative to construct 67 ROBs in the
state and 20 times more amount has been incurred for the construction of
the ROBs for the smooth flow of traffic in the state, he added.
