HVPN and PGCI sign MoU for laying optical fibre

CHANDIGARH, DEC 20 
A contract agreement has been signed between Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN)  Ltd. with Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) for leasing out optical fibres and providing Right of Way  (ROW) for laying optical fibre in Gurgaon and Panchkula – Kunihar in Himachal Pradesh.  The contract was signed by Director,Technical, HVPN, Mr  R.K. Arora and Executive Director, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd., Mr Ashwin Jain in the  presence of Managing Director, HVPN,  Mr Anurag Agarwal at Panchkula today.
 With this agreement,  the PGCIL  would get additional reliability for their corporate office at Gurgaon and also connectivity in Panchkula area.  For use of ROW/optical fibre, PGCIL  will give mutually agreed rent as well as spare optical fibres to HVPN  for its exclusive use.  The PGCIL  has also agreed to provide 10 Mbps internet connectivity at Panipat free of cost to HVPN  which would increase the speed as well as reliability of the System Load Dispatch Center  (SLDC) website. 
The PGCIL  is providing consultancy to HVPN for its SCADA expansion project. In the expansion project OPGW will be laid on all 220 kv  and above substations and real time data will increase considerably and further effective power regulation measures in the state.   Beside consultancy the PGCIL  is also executing the replacement  and  up-gradation of control centre at SLDC Panipat along with other northern region constituents.
