Keeping in view
the case of Swine Flu as reported in district Sirsa, Haryana Health Department
has taken effective measures to check the spread of the disease.
While
stating this here today, a spokesman of the Health Department said that a
resident of village Chattriya namely Raj Kumar had died of swine flu in Hisar.
Health Department has conducted checkup of the relatives of Raj Kumar and
residents of his village and has also provided Tamiflu tablets to 22 residents
of the same village. He said that a team of doctors is visiting the village
regularly and checkup of people suffering from cold and fever is being done. He
said that today, the team of doctors has visited the village for the third
time.
He
said that on the death of a resident of village Jasana of Rajasthan namely
Jagdish in a private hospital, the department has given Tamiflu tablets to 16
employees of the same hospital as precautionary measure. He said that an
isolation ward has been created for such patients in general hospital which has
two beds, oxygen cylinder and other necessary equipments. Also, samples of those
suffering from high risk influenza are being taken by the department, he added.
He
said that keeping in view the suspected cases of swine flu and for checkup and
survey of people suffering from cold and fever in the district, Dr. Deep has been
appointed as District Surveillance Officer. Also, Dr. Hansraj Bashir, Chest
Disease Specialist has been deputed. He said that doctors of all general
hospitals, community health centres and primary health centres have been
directed to take serious note of patients suffering from cold, pain in
chest and having symptoms of swine flu and ensure their proper treatment.
He
said that the department has adequate quantity of Tamiflu tablets. He said that
people should contact the doctors at nearest hospital as soon as they feel pain
in chest with fever, cough and cold.
