28 FIRs registered for illegal mining

CHANDIGARH, FEB 13
As many as 28 FIRs have been registered since September 2012  for illegal mining and fine of over Rs 68 lakh has been imposed as 304 vehicles were found  carrying stones in an unauthorized manner  in  district Mewat.
While stating this today, a spokesman of Police Department said that mining activities are completely prohibited in the district by the Supreme Court. He said that with a view to check illegal mining in the area, Mewat Deputy Commissioner Wazir Singh Goyat has been issuing strict orders against it in the meetings of Task Force.
He said that the process of auction of impounded vehicles is under progress through Special Environment Court at Faridabad.
 ‘NO IMPACT’ ON STRIKE CALL BY HARYANA ROADWAYS
The strike call given by Haryana Roadways employees has failed to make any impact in the State today. No untoward incident was reported from any part of the State.
        While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Transport Department said that bus service remained normal all over the State except in Yamunanagar where it was affected for some time.
        He thanked all those who have cooperated with the Government and did not join agitation.
        He said that  the Chief Minister had already announced a number of incentives for employees of State Roadways after holding deliberations with representatives of their various unions. Also, some of their demands are under consideration of the State Government.
 SK JAIN PROMOTED AS IGP
The Haryana Government has promoted S.K. Jain, IPS to the rank of Inspector General of Police, Haryana with effect from June 8,2010, the date on which his immediate junior Balbir Singh was promoted.
REMUNERATION OF IIT INSTRUCTORS ON CONTRACT HIKED
The Haryana Government has hiked the remuneration of Instructors engaged on contract  in Government Industrial Training Institutes in the state from Rs.12,500 to Rs.14,000 per month, according to a circular issued by the Industrial Training Department.
 HEAD CONSTABLE CAUGHT RED HANDED
Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught Head Constable Balwant Singh, Home Guard, district Fatehabad red handed while accepting an illegal gratification of Rs 5000 from Mr. Jitender, a resident of ward number 6, village Bhuna, district Fatehabad in lieu of submitting the file to the Commandant for issuing of Arms Training Certificate.
            While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that a case has been registered against him under section 7, 13, 49 and 88 of Prevention of Corruption Act in the Police Station of the State Vigilance Bureau, Hisar. Further investigation of the case is in progress, he added.
