Ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin of driver Narinder

The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, announced to give an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin of the State Roadways driver namely Mr Narinder Singh, who had died in an accident in Ambala City yesterday. Mr Hooda also announced to give Government job to Mrs Gurpreet Kaur, the daughter-in-law of the deceased driver as per her qualifications.
          This was stated by Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr Randeep Singh Surjewala after having a meeting with the officers of district administration, police, leaders of the Roadways employees and relatives of the deceased driver in Ambala today.
He said that the State Government has also ordered an enquiry into the incident by a Magistrate, as demanded by the leaders of the Roadways employees. Till the completion of the enquiry, the proceedings of the cases registered against leaders of the employees and the employees would not be pursued. Also, any action in this regard would be taken after the receipt of the report of the enquiry. The employees of the Roadways have also agreed to assume their duties.
          Mr Surjewala said that the Chief Minister has also condoled the death of the driver Mr Narinder Singh. He said that the Chief Minister had deputed former Minister Ch. Nirmal Singh and former Media Coordinator Dilip Chawla Bittu to meet the members of the family of the deceased and leaders of the employees to resolve the issue. Both the relatives of the deceased and leaders of the Roadways employees have accepted the manner in which the issue has been resolved without any pressure. He said that immediately after getting the information of the tragic accident, the officers of the district administration had at their own level contacted the members of the family of the deceased. Out of the total Rs ten lakh to be given to the next of kin of the deceased, while Rs five lakh would be given by the State Government, an equal amount would be given out of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
