Hooda releases booklet of Kala Parishad culture activities

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today released a booklet of cultural activities organized by the Haryana Kala Parishad from the year 2007 to 2012 here today. Mr Hooda also released a six-page annual calendar of the Parishad

         Director, Kala Parishad Mrs. Usha Sharma informed that the booklet contain detailed information about 400 state and interstate level programmes like folk dances, folk song, folk theater, classical music and dance organized during the previous years.

She said that the programmes organized by the Kala Parishad received an overwhelming response and the dignitaries who attended the functions as Chief Guests highly appreciated them. They also honoured the artists from their discretionary funds.

          She said that the Parishad had successfully organized functions to depict Haryanavi culture and would continue to do the same in future also.  Documentation had also been carried out on different folk arts like Sangs, Jogi, Been and Deru of renowned poet Pt. Lakhmi Chand. Apart from this, the Parishad also produced short films on Khodiya and Teej to disseminate information regarding our folk culture to the next generations.

          She said that the Haryana Kala Parishad was also contemplating to produce documentary films on Haryanavi  folk traditions like ‘Bhat Bharna’, ‘Kuan Pujan’ and ‘Kartik Sanan’ which could be used for research works in future, she added.

          She said that the photographs in the six-page annual calendar depict the folk dances of State namely Khodiya, Loor, Dhamal, Been Vadan, Jalwa Pujan and Raas of Lord Krishna to popularize and promote Haryanvi Culture.

The Chief Minister also released a book entitled ‘Chakarvyuh Main Aurat’ written by Director Haryana Granth Akademi Dr. Mukta.

Those present on the occasion included Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, Principal OSD to Chief Minister Mr. M.S. Chopra, Director General, Information and Public Relations Department Mr. Sudhir Rajpal, Vice Chairman, Kala Parishad Mr. K.C. Sharma, Vice Chairman Haryana Granth Akademi Mr. Kamlesh Bhartiya, and Director Haryana Granth Akademi Dr. Mukta.
