Tubewell-based drinking water supply schemes

The Haryana Public Health Engineering Minister, Mrs. Kiran Choudhry, said that new tubewell based drinking water supply schemes are being implemented in addition to  canal based schemes.  
 Mrs. Choudhry was speaking after laying the foundation stone of a boosting station to be constructed at a cost of  Rs 96 lakh at village Patwan in district Bhiwani today. She also laid the foundation stone of waterworks costing Rs two lakh at village Gopalvas, waterworks costing Rs 70 lakh at village Mandoli Kalan and boosting station costing Rs 93 lakh at village Siwach.
          She said that after the completion of these drinking water schemes, people of the district would not face any shortage of safe drinking water. She said that after the tenure of former Chief Minister, Ch. Bansi Lal, no attention was paid towards development of this area and the people had to face many problems.
          She said that the villages where underground water was soft, efforts are being made to provide adequate drinking water to the people through the medium of tubewells whereas those villages where the underground water was saline, canal water based schemes are being implemented. She said that she alongwith her daughter MP Shruti Choudhry was taking measures to realize the dreams of Ch. Bansi Lal and former Agriculture Minister, Ch. Surender Singh. She said that the State Government is committed to provide adequate drinking water to every person of the State and new waterworks and boosting stations costing crores of rupees are being set up. Also, the capacity of already existing waterworks and boosting stations is being increased.
          Mrs. Choudhry said that a camp of party workers   would be organized in Bhiwani on March 3 and in it each worker would be informed about the schemes of the Central Government and public welfare policies so that they could spread awareness regarding the same in their concerned villages. She said that a ragani competition would be organized in the memory of Ch. Surender Singh at Badhsa in district Jhajjar on March 10. Those bagging first, second and third position in this competition would get Rs one lakh, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.
