18.65 lakh metric tonnes of wheat arrive in Haryana mandis

 More than 18.65 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana during the current procurement season.
          While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that out of it, over 18.64 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by Government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 713 metric tonnes has also been purchased by the private millers and traders.
         He said that HAFED had procured over 6.51 lakh metric tonnes of wheat, Food and Supplies Department over 5.06 lakh metric tonnes, Food Corporation of India over 3.06 lakh metric tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation over 1.80 lakh metric tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation over 1.23 lakh metric tonnes and CONFED had purchased 95,960 metric tonnes of wheat.
          He said that district Karnal was leading in wheat arrival where over 3.06 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had so far arrived in the mandis, followed by district Kaithal where over 2.95 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived in the mandis. District Kurukshetra ranked third in wheat arrival where over 1.94 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived whereas in district Sonepat over 1.84 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived, in district Jind over 1.55 lakh metric tonnes, in district Palwal and Panipat over 1.43 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived. Similarly, in district Faridabad 75,940 metric tonnes, in district Ambala 66084 metric tonnes, in district Fatehabad 59153 metric tonnes, in district Sirsa 46386 metric tonnes, in district Rohtak 41300 metric tonnes, in district Gurgaon 34798 metric tonnes, in district Mewat 27948 metric tonnes, in district Yamunanagar 27433 metric tonnes, in district Jhajjar 25421 metric tonnes, in district Hisar 20610 metric tonnes, in district Rewari 9533 metric tonnes, in district Panchkula 3721 metric tonnes, in district Narnaul 2938 metric tonnes and in district Bhiwani 2510 metric tonnes of wheat had arrived in the mandis.
