As the Chaitra Navratra Mela is commencing at Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Complex in Panchkula near here from April 11 to 19, the Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Haryana Mr. P. Raghvendra Rao held a meeting with the Standing Committee  of the Shrine Board and reviewed  arrangements made for the smooth conduct of the mela.
Lakhs of pilgrims visit the Shakti Peeth of Shri Mata Mansa Devi, especially during the annual Chaitra Navratra Mela to pay obeisance.
The Chief Administrator of the Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board, Mrs. Ashima Brar said that during the mela, Duty Magistrates and Protocol Officers would be appointed to  coordinate with the Police Department and   carryout joint patrolling to avert any untoward incident. A team of doctors and an ambulance would remain present at the Mela site. A Food Inspector would also be deputed to check   adulteration, if any, in food items being sold there and   to check that open ‘parshad’ is not sold by the shopkeepers and it should be in packets. Inspector Weights and Measures  would  ensure that the pilgrims are  given ‘parshad’ and other material with proper weight and at reasonable rates. There would be a complete ban on use of polythene.
She said that  steps would also be taken to ensure cleanliness, availability of adequate drinking water, hygienic food and uninterrupted supply of electricity and transport facility.
