26 defaulting candidates disqualified

As many as 26 candidates, who contested General Elections held last month from Municipal Council, Narwana and Municipal Committee, Safidon have been disqualified for a period of three years for not submitted their election expenditure statement.

            While stating this here today, the State Election Commissioner, Haryana Mr. Dharam Vir said that these candidates have not even bothered to file reply of the show-cause notice issued to them.

            He said that that the results of the General Elections of Municipal Council, Narwana and Municipal Committee, Safidon were declared on May 20, 2010, the same day of elections. As per the Haryana Municipal Election Expenditure (Maintenance and Submission of Accounts) order, 2006, every contesting candidate has to file his or her account of election expenses within 30 days after the declaration of election result.   The seven candidates of Municipal Council, Narwana and nineteen candidates of Municipal Committee, Safidon have neither submitted their election expenditure statement nor bothered to file reply of the show cause notice issued to them and thus, they have been disqualified for a period of three years.

He said that the seven candidates from the Municipal Council, Narwan who have been disqualified included Mukesh Devi who contested elections from ward number 1, Jagmal - ward number 3, Raj Bala - ward number 4, Anupam - ward number 11, Ashwani – ward number 12 and Ganga - ward number 18.

He said that nineteen candidates of Municipal council, Safidon who have been disqualified for a period of three years are Hardwari lal  who contested elections from ward number 1, Geeta – ward number 5, Banso Devi – ward number 5, Sube Singh – ward number 6, Satish Kumar – ward number 7, Rina – ward number 13, Krishan – ward number 13, Dasa Ram – ward number 13, Rajpal – ward number 13, Ram Mehar – ward number 13, Sube Sing – ward number 13, Surender – ward number 13, Ashok Kumar – ward number 14, Joginder – ward number 14, Pritam – ward number 14, Rajesh – ward number 14, Virender – ward number 14, Ashok – ward number 15 and Munni Devi – ward number 15.
