CHANDIGARH, JUNE 7
The Haryana Government has decided to implement a new scheme under which a native of any village residing at any other place will be able to contribute to the development activities of the village, depending upon his financial status.
A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting held under the Chairmanship of a Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today.
It was observed that although the people leave their native villages or  towns for business or other purpose yet their association remains with  their native places. However, they intend to spend money on carrying out development works in their native villages after the name of their ancestors.
Under the scheme such people would be able to make contribution in activities like setting up of library, gym, construction of bus queue shelter, water courses and cremation shed.  Mr. Hooda directed that sanitation projects should also be included in this scheme.
Mr. Hooda directed to organize a conference of such people in the State on the pattern of that of the Non-resident Indians and also give advertisement in the media for collecting information about those hailing from Haryana.  Mr. Hooda said that it is a good concept and the State Government would extend full cooperation.
Mr. Hooda said that to give due respect to such people, a district level cell should be constituted which would establish correspondence with them and seek their contribution in the development activities in the villages. This would further improve people’s faith in the Government, added Mr. Hooda.
The Chief Minister directed to constitute a four-member committee under the Chairmanship of  Principal Secretary, Development and Panchayat Department Mr. Ram Niwas to prepare the modalities of the scheme. The other members of the Committee would be Principal Secretary, Finance, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. R.S Doon and Deputy Commissioner, Jhajjar Mr. Ajit Balaji Joshi.
In the meeting Deputy Commissioner, Jhajjar Mr. Ajit Balaji Joshi suggested that a society should be constituted at district level to monitor the corporate social responsibility. Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Chhatar Singh, Additional Principal Secretary Mr. S.S Dhillon,  Deputy Principal Secretary Mr. R.S Doon, Principal Secretary, Development and Panchayat Department Mr. Ram Niwas and Principal Secretary, Finance Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal were also present in the meeting.
