Gulzari Lal Nanda’s birth anniversary celebrated

The birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India Bharat Ratna Gulzari Lal Nanda was celebrated at the Gulzari Lal Nanda Centre for Ethics and Philosophy of Kurukshetra University at Kurukshetra today.
        While stating this today, a spokesman of the University said that floral tributes were paid to Mr Gulzari Lal Nanda  and saplings were planted by Vice Chancellor of University, Lt. Gen Dr. D.D.S. Sandhu, Registrar, Dr. Krishan Chand Ralhan, Sub Divisional Magistrate Ashok Bansal, City Magistrate and CEO Mr. Satvir Kundu and  other prominent personalities.
        Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Dr. Sandhu said that Mr Gulzari Lal Nanda was a great socialist, who advocated the cause of equality among all sections of society. Therefore, he is still admired for his social views and concern towards under privileged sections of the society. The young generation must learn from his life and works. Dr. Sandhu assured every possible help from University to the Institute to move forward as per their need.
        Vice Chancellor and the Registrar of the University gave away certificates to students who had bagged first, second, third positions and consolation prizes in the declamation contest held in the Institute   yesterday.
