Karnal and Hisar to have civil airports

 Close on the heels of Haryana getting prestigious projects in last some months, the state now gets two civil airports. Having been okayed in principle by the Central Government, these will be set up in Karnal and Hisar. 
This was announced by the Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today. The  Central Government of India has given in principal approval for these airports for which  a memorandum of understanding would soon be signed, Mr Hooda said. 
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Central Government and the Civil Aviation Ministry for giving approval for setting up of the airports. He said that the state government had applied for five airports for Hisar, Bhiwani, Narnaul, Karnal and Pinjore out of which approval has been obtained for Hisar and Karnal. 
These airports would give connectivity a leg-up and boost industry and tourism. Mr Hooda said that talks were in progress with the Government of India for setting up of an international cargo airport in the state.
 Major Projects initiated in Haryana in the last few months are Indian National Defence University (INDU), the first university of its kind in the country and third in the world after USA and China, National Institute of Design (NID), the Centre of Excellence for Fruits  in Sirsa. Hansi-Meham-Rohtak rail line and four lanning of Hisar-Hansi-Meham-Rohtak section of National Highway No. 10 and Rohtak Railway Byepass train line. 
With the announcement of CM to give 50 per cent of Rs. 2515 crore for implementation of three railway line projects of  Delhi-Sohna-Nuh-Ferozpur Jhirka-Alwar, Hisar-Agroha-Fatehabad-Sirsa and Yamunanagar-Sadhora-Naraingarh-Chandigarh  has paved the way for their early construction. The length of these  rail lines would be 104 kms, 93 kms and 91 kms respectively.
