Hooda hopes Haryana players will perform better in 2016 Olympics

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has expressed hope that Haryana players will show better performance in Rio Olympics- 2016 and will win more medals than London Olympics.  
          Mr Hooda was talking to  Silver medalist Mr Amit and Bronze medalist Mr Bajrang of World Wrestling Championship recently held at Budapest, Hungry, who called on him at his New Delhi residence today.     
 Mr Hooda congratulated them and asked them to work hard to bring more laurels to the State and the country in coming Olympics. Rohtak MP, Mr Deepender Sigh Hooda and Political Advisor to CM, Prof. Virender were also present on this occasion.
          As per the sports policy of Haryana, the Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal winning sports persons of Haryana at Rio Olympics-2016 will be awarded Rs. 5 crore, Rs. 3 crore and Rs. 2 crore respectively.
Prof. Virender said that the State Government has awarded more than Rs. 52 crore to 9962 players from March-2005 to March-2013 and provided jobs to 403 sports persons in Haryana Police, on the basis of their achievements. Budget of Sports department has also increased from about Rs 23 crore to about Rs. 174 crore during this period.
          London Olympic medal winner wrestler Mr Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar, Mr Narender Punia, Mr Narender Dalal and Mr Krishan Dahiya were also present on this occasion.
