5 kg opium seized by Haryana Police

 Haryana Police has seized 5.250 kilo gram of opium and recovered a pistol, a ‘desi katta’ and a live cartridge from a vehicle in district Rewari.
          While giving this information today, a spokesman of Police Department said that the police has also sized 640 kilogram poppy husk from Karnal.
          He said that yesterday night the Police had got information that a white coloured Bolero car carrying unauthorized weapons was approaching from IOC Chowk. Acting swiftly on the information the police laid a trap on the road but on seeing the police vehicle, the driver immediately stopped the jeep and fled from the spot. On searching the vehicle, the police sized four polythene bags carrying 5.250 Kilo gram of opium and recovered a pistol, a ‘desi katta’ and a live cartridge. The police has registered a case against unknown person under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and Arms Act after impounding the vehicle. He said that the owner of vehicle would be traced on the basis of registration number of bolero jeep and the accused would soon be arrested.
In another case, the police has succeed in arresting two accused namely Sukha Singh of Bras Nissing and Kashmira Singh, a resident of Dera Amopur, Karnal with 640 kilogram of poppy husk. Case has been registered against both the accused at Police Station, Nissing under the NDPS Act.
