Mukhyamantri Muft Ilaj Yojna’ a big success

The ambitious ‘Mukhyamantri Muft Ilaj Yojna’ of Haryana Government has proved to be a big success as more than 11.41 lakh patients in the state have so far been benefited since its introduction on January 1, 2014. It aims at providing better and free of cost health care facilities to common man.
          While giving this information today, Health Minister, Rao Narender Singh said that under this scheme, services like surgeries, medicines, diagnostic services, referral ambulance service, indoor service and dental treatment facilities were being provided free of cost in government hospitals and medical colleges in the state. A sum of Rs 261.1 crore is being spent on this scheme.
          He said that under this scheme,on an average 54,340 patients came to the OPDs per day for their treatment. Also, in case of indoor patients,  90,732 patients admitted in government hospitals have been provided free facilities and average rate of patients per day has been 4321. Medicine amounting to about Rs 1.65 crore have been given to patients during this period.
          The Health Minister said that under the scheme, facilities of laboratory tests were also being provided in addition to medicines. So far, 4,55,803 lab tests have been conducted free of cost. Apart from this, free x-ray facilities to 46,289 patients, Electrocardiogram (ECG) facility to 21,592 patients and ultrasound tests of 18,887 patients have been conducted.
          Rao Narender Singh said that so far 6829 patients have been benefitted with free surgery facility and dental treatment has been given free of cost to 39,917 patients. Similarly, more than 29,000 persons have utilized the services of free emergency ambulance facility under the scheme, he added.
