Additional Inspector General of Prison, Haryana, Mr Jagjit Singh, has been awarded President Correctional Service Medal for meritorious service.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the award has been conferred on the eve of Republic Day. Mr Jagjit Singh was recruited as Deputy Superintendent Jail in Prison Department on March 23, 1991 and was further promoted as Superintendent Jail on November 5, 2001. He said that during his postings at different jails, he had made efforts in improving environment in jail as well as for the prisoners and the prison’s staff.
