CHANDIGARH, MARCH 31The Haryana Government has notified April 10, 2014, the day of poll for the General Election to Lok Sabha-2014 as public holiday in all its government or semi-government offices, education institutions, boards and corporations in the state and also at Chandigarh and Delhi for casting their vote in the election.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the government also notified that the employees of various factories, shops and private establishments located in Haryana, who are registered voters for said General election may also be allowed to take paid leave under section 135-B of the Representation of the People Act for the similar purpose.
He said that April 10 would also be observed as holiday under section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act in the state.
