Two additional increments to meritorious employees

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 28
The Haryana Government has decided that two additional increments would be given to such government employees who acquire higher skills relevant to their fields of work during service.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that for this purpose, all departments in consultation with the General Administration Department would notify the skill sets and qualification which are to be considered higher skills for the different cadres and frame appropriate guidelines.
The spokesman said that the expectation of citizen for good governance requires government officials to upgrade their skills and knowledge. Moreover, the acquisition of relevant higher skills by government officials need to be encouraged in a big way, he added.
200 TAKE PART IN RAGANI COMPETITIONS: As many as 200 folk artists from various rural and urban areas of the state participated at State Level Ragani Competition organized by Haryana Kala Parishad to promote art and culture of Haryana at Yavnika Open Air Theatre Panchkula near here yesterday.
While stating this, the Vice Chairman Haryana Kala Parishad Mr. K.C. Sharma said that documentation of rangni and saang, been, jangam, deru and jogi gayan composed by Pt. Lakhmi Chand has been significant achievements of Haryana Kala Parishad.
Speaking on this occasion, Director Haryana Kala Parishad said that as a result of efforts made by Parishad, documentation of about 200 ragnis, 25 saang, sanskar geet including bhaat, khodia, chuchak based on traditional custom and culture of Haryana have been carried out. Apart from this, emphasis is also being given on the promotion of indigenous art forms like doll making, paper making, clay art, terakota and painting.
Programme Officer, Mrs. Leela Saini welcomed the participants and guest in the event.
In this cultural event, first prize of Rs. 31,000 was bagged by Suraj Bhan of Kurukshetra whereas second and third prizes of Rs.25,000 and Rs.21,000 won by Chander Kumar Gaur, Sonipat and Manju Arora of Ambala Cantt respectively. Consolation prizes were bagged by Km Seema Rani of Chandigarh and Dharamvir Singh of Sonipat.
SONALI WINS GOLD: Sonali hailing from Panchkula has brought laurel to the state by winning gold medal in 11th All India Choi kwang do karate championship under -14 age group held at Chandigarh on April 26.
Sonali is a brilliant student of VI standard in St. Xavier's High School, Sector-20, Panchkula. Sonali’s father Mr. Pawan Malik is posted as Personal Assistant in the Haryana Civil Secretariat, sector 1, Chandigarh.
SAMMAN PENSION INCREASED: Haryana Government has increased the Samman Pension of freedom fighters or their widows or their unmarried unemployed daughters and disabled unmarried unemployed sons.
A notification issued by office of Chief Secretary states that the Samman Pension has been hiked from Rs.20,000 to Rs.25,000 per month (including fixed medical allowance at the rate of Rs.750 per month) with effect from April 1, 2014.
