Haryana and UP to sign MoU to construct bridge

The Haryana Government will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uttar Pradesh Government regarding construction of bridge on River Yamuna to connect Bilaspur-Khojkipur Road located in Panipat with Tanda-Kurdi-Nangal-Sai Mandir Chaprauli-Barot road located in Uttar Pradesh on June, 13.
                While stating this today, an official spokesman said that Principal Secretary, Haryana Public Works Department Sanjiv Kaushal  would sign the MoU on behalf of Haryana Government whereas Secretary Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department would sign the MoU on behalf of UP Government in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda. This proposed bridge would be constructed near village Hathwala of District Panipat, Haryana and village Chaprauli of Uttar Pradesh. This bridge would be about 1121 meters long and would connect the villages of district Baghpat of Uttar Pradesh with the villages of district Panipat of Haryana. An amount of about Rs. 120.44 crore would be spent on the construction of this bridge.
                He said that for this project, Haryana Government would take loan from National Capital Regional Planning Board. He said that a project staring committee consisting of official of both the States would be constituted to look into any problem being faced for the successful completion of this project. The member of the committee would keep a check on the progress and other activities related to the construction of the bridge which would be completed within 3 years.
