Kanwar Pal Gujjar elected Speaker

CHANDIGARH, NOV 3
Mr Kanwar Pal Gujjar, a MLA of the Bhartiya Janata Party from Jagadhari Assembly Constituency will be the Speaker of the 13th Haryana Vidhan Sabha. He was elected unanimously on the first day of the Vidhan Sabha Session here today.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr Ram Bilas Sharma proposed his name which was seconded by Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu.
Earlier, the Protem Speaker Dr. Raghubir Singh Kadian administered the oath to the newly elected legislators.
SURPRISE CHECK BY DHANKAR: Haryana Agriculture and Irrigation Minister Mr. Om Parkash Dhankhar today made surprise check in Irrigation branch situated at Haryana Civil Secretariat at 9.15 a.m. During inspection, eight officials including Superintendent, Assistant and Clerk found absent from duty. Show cause notices have been served to these employees.
Mr. Dhankhar said that work culture should be changed and efforts of state government were to carry out better work in the interest of people of the state.
RP CHANDERR APPOINTED: Haryana Government has today appointed Dr R P Chander, Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department as Chairman, Haryana Gau Sewa Ayog, Panchkula in addition to his present duties.
VOLVO BUS SERVICE TO JAIPUR: Haryana Roadways has started a new Volvo Bus service from Chandigarh to Jaipur via Narnaul covering 545 kms. The bus would start from Chandigarh at 7:40 am and would reach Jaipur at 8:30 pm. The same bus would start for Chandigarh at 8:20 am and would reach Chandigarh at 8:50 pm. The fare from Chandigarh to Jaipur would be Rs 820.
