182 positive cases of Swine Flu in Haryana detected

CHANDIGARH, MARCH 2
In Haryana, so far 182 positive cases of Swine Flu have been detected, out of which 22 causalities  have been reported. As many as seven patients suffering from swine flu are on ventilator. With a view to check the spread of swine flu, the Haryana Health Department has  established isolation wards besides making  availability of adequate stock of Tamiflu.  The   facility of ventilators at district level in collaboration with  private hospitals has been set up.
Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Mr. Ram Niwas gave this information during video conferencing with all districts civil surgeons on the preparedness to prevent Swine Flu.
He said that during the past few days the weather has changed and intensity of cold has increased due to rains therefore cases of swine flu are expected to rise. He urged everybody to take special care in such weather. He said that all civil surgeons have been given directions to immediately track the suspected cases through Track and Surveillance at district level and by sending a team of district level Special Task Force and provide the patients with Tamiflu.
Mr Niwas said that spread of  Swine Flu can only be checked with the help of local people. One can contribute in not spreading the flu further by keeping distance from those who are suspected with swine flu symptoms and keep handkerchief or any cloth while sneezing and wash their hands at regular intervals.
He said that high temperature along with cough, cold and problem in breathing could be one of the possible symptoms of Swine Flu. The people suffering from these symptoms should not take it lightly and they should immediately report to their nearest health centre for the treatment, he added.
