Srimad Bhagavad Gita is the base of human life and it gives new outlook to people by infusing enthusiasm in their lives. Therefore, the Haryana Government has decided to celebrate Gita Jayanti Mahotsava throughout the State in a befitting manner from December 19 to 21, 2015.
While giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that in this regard, a District Level Celebration Committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioners concerned. He said that Additional Deputy Commissioner would be the Vice Chairman and City Magistrate would be the Member Secretary of the Committee. Similarly, SDM (Concerned), Vice Chancellor or Registrar, District Information and Public Relations Officer, District Education Officer, District Primary or Elementary Education Officer, representative of Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, G.M. Industries and representatives of Haryana Tourism would be the Members of the Committee. He said that at least 20 members would be nominated by Deputy Commissioner which includes people from all walks of life and eminent NGO’s and organization especially engaged in the promotion of Bhagvad Gita.
He said that a sum of Rs 10 lakh would be provided to each district by the Information, Public Relations and Culture Affairs Department for setting up of Exhibition, Tentage, Craft work, boarding and lodging of artist, refreshment and other related miscellaneous expenses. He said that for organizing the activities pertaining to Department of Education, Urban Local Bodies, Horticulture, Haryana Urban Development Authority, Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, Public Health Engineering, Women and Child Development, Power Department etc., the expenditure will be borne by the concerned department in consultation with DC concerned.
